Provide Feedback and Ideas
Welcome to the Maxilist user guide! Your feedback is incredibly valuable and helps us shape the future of Maxilist. We believe in building a product that truly serves our users, and the best way to do that is by listening to your ideas. We use Upvoty, a dedicated platform, to manage all of your suggestions and feature requests.
Why We Use Upvoty
Upvoty provides a transparent and community-driven way for you to submit your ideas and see what others are suggesting. This platform allows you to:
- See the Roadmap: View ideas that are "Under Consideration" or "In Progress."
- Vote on Ideas: Upvote the ideas you like, which tells us what the community wants most.
- Follow the Status: Get notified when the status of your submitted ideas changes.
This ensures that our development is focused on the features that matter most to you.
Submit a New Idea
If you have a new feature you'd like to see in Maxilist, follow these steps:
- Access the Feedback Portal: Navigate to the dedicated Maxilist feedback portal by
Home→Feedback. - Search for an Existing Idea: Before submitting, use the search bar to see if someone else has already suggested your idea. This helps keep our feedback streamlined and ensures your vote goes toward an existing request.
- Submit Your Idea: If your idea isn't already there, click on Submit Idea.
- Give it a Title: Create a clear and concise title that summarizes your idea (e.g., "Add a barcode scanner for asset IDs").
- Add Details: Provide a detailed description of your idea, explaining what it is and how it would help you. The more information you provide, the better we can understand your needs.
- Submit: Once you're done, submit the idea. It will now be visible to the entire community!
Upvote and Follow an Idea
Upvoting an idea is just as important as submitting one! Upvoting helps us prioritize the most requested features.
- Access the Feedback Portal: Go to the Maxilist feedback portal.
- Browse Ideas: Scroll through the list of ideas submitted by other users.
- Upvote: When you find an idea you support, simply click the Upvote button next to it.
- Comment: You can also add a comment to an idea to provide more context or a use case.
- Follow: Click the "Follow" button to receive email notifications about any status updates for that idea.
Real-World Examples
Submitting an Idea
A user wants to be able to create PDF reports from their cart.
- Action: They access the feedback portal, search for "cart report" and don't find a matching idea. They submit a new idea with the title "Generate PDF report from Cart." In the description, they explain that this would be useful for creating picking lists for their warehouse team.
Upvoting a Feature
A different user sees the idea to "Generate PDF report from Cart" and realizes it would solve a similar problem for their business.
- Action: They click the "Upvote" button on that idea and add a comment: "This would be great for creating client invoices from my sales cart as well!" This adds another use case and increases the feature's priority.
