Before you start adding your inventory, it's helpful to understand the simple but powerful way Maxilist organizes your data. Getting this structure right from the beginning will make managing everything much easier as your inventory grows.
The easiest way to think about it is like organizing files on a computer:
- Items are like your individual files.
- Collections are like the folders you put your files into (but automatically).
- Custom Fields are like the columns you add to your spreadsheet.
- Contacts are people and organizations that you want to keep track of.
- Document Templates are like the templates you use to print your labels, catalogues, etc.
