Images and Attachments

A picture is worth a thousand words, and a document can be worth its weight in gold. Maxilist allows you to enrich your inventory records with both high-quality images and important file attachments, ensuring every piece of relevant information is stored directly with the item it belongs to.

  • Images provide instant visual identification, helping you recognize products, assess asset conditions, and create a visual catalog.
  • Attachments allow you to store critical documents like invoices, user manuals, warranties, and certificates, eliminating the need to search through separate files or emails.

This guide will show you how to work with both.

Working with Images and Attachments

Every item and collection in Maxilist has a built-in image gallery. You can add multiple photos to create a complete visual record.

Adding Images to an Item

  1. Open the item or collection you wish to edit.
  2. Locate the image gallery area at the top of the screen.
  3. You will be prompted with two options:
    • Camera: This opens your device's camera, allowing you to capture a new photo of the item directly.
    • Gallery: This opens the item's gallery, allowing you to upload one or more existing pictures.
  4. After taking or selecting a photo or attachment, it will be added to the item's gallery. You can repeat this process to add multiple images or attachments.
  5. Save the item as usual and the images and attachments will be synced to cloud.

Once you've added images, you can easily manage them.

  • Upload an image/attachment to your Gallery: Click on the Select button in the the screen header to add a new image or attachment.
  • Reorder Images: You can drag and drop images using the bottom thumbnails to reorder them in the gallery.
  • Set a Primary Image: The first image in the gallery acts as the item's thumbnail in list views. To change it, simply tap, hold, and drag any image to the first position.
  • View Full-Screen: Tap on any image thumbnail to view it in full-screen mode. You can swipe left or right to browse through all the images for that item.
  • Delete an Image: While viewing an image in full-screen, tap the Delete button to delete it.
  • Download an Image: While viewing an image in full-screen, tap the Download button to download the image to your device's gallery.

The same steps above apply to attachments as well.
